Regular oil and filter changes are essential. we would recommend annual or 6,000 mile intervals in oil and filter changes whichever comes first. When a car is stood for a significant amount of time the filters can become dried out and will deform and even fall apart. The filter pictured here was removed from a 200 M102 engine which has been inactive for a while the outer part of the element was still inside the housing
