M102 200
The M102 Straight four cylinder petrol engine in 2.0 cylinder form was the replacement for the outgoing M115 200 . In the W123 This engine was used from its launch in 1980 until the end of the W123 production in 1986.
The 2.0 litre engine used a Stromberg CDT carburettor producing 107 bhp and used in the Saloon & Estate. Hugely reliable was this engine that it was used in various other models of the Mercedes-Benz range including the replacement W124 models and its younger brother the wW201 190 it was finally retired after use in the 1992 W124 replaced by the M111 unit.
