The M110 Engine is a a DOHC engine straight 6 with 2 valves per cylinder. The M110.92x & .93x Engines are carburettor engines with a solex 4A1 carb fitted.

The M110.98x & .99x Engines are fitted with bosch D-jetronic injection up to the .983 and K-jetronic from .984.

The engine is a 2.8 litre displacement and produced between 156 and 185 BHP dependent on year and model. The engine was used for almost 20 years in various Mercedes models though the W123 models were its biggest Host. The engine was retired and used for the last time in the 1989 incarnation of the Mercedes G Wagen.
